Day 42 – Portfolio Value £7,732 Up £245 On Th...Our portfolio made nice gains again today on the back of, yep, you guessed it, ReneSola. Our Chinese solar wafer maker finished up a further 16 pence (7.69%) today, a continuation in the strong uptrend that has seen it’s price roughly double in the past 16 trading days. Renesola's Recent Rises - chart courtesy www.iii.co.uk I’ve got to admit to offloading another parcel of ReneSola...

Day 41 – Portfolio Value £7,543 Up £230 On Th...Well I hate to be a one-track DJ, but again today, our portfolio appreciation is down to the largest of our holdings, Renesola. It was a choppy day for our Chinese solar wafer manufacturer, following Friday’s unexpected sprint to two quid (28% gain on the day), so I guess there was a little trepidation in the market today. Renesola opened down at 190 pence, rose 10 pence in the first five mi...

Day 38 – Portfolio Value £7,345 Up £956 On Th...And that, ladies and gentlemen is a lovely day’s work! Not that I can take any credit for it. In fact I skimmed the top of small part of our ReneSola holdings at £1.72, when it had 25 pence more left in it, so what do I know? I said yesterday that we could be heading for new ground with ReneSola since we’d busted out over recent resistance around the 140 pence mark, but to be knocking...

Day 37 – Portfolio Value £6,439 Up £173 On Th...I’m guessing on the back of rising oil prices, Renesola rose a further 9 pence (6%) today ensuring our little green portfolio was £173 to the good at the close of play. At the close of markets in New York, ReneSola’s sibling listing finished up a chunky 12% which makes me think that we could be pushing £1.60 – £1.65 tomorrow. But as I’ve uttered many times before today, ...

Day 36 – Portfolio Value £6,215 Down £127 On ...After our flying start to the week I’m not too perturbed by finishing the day £127 south. Low Carbon Accelerator finished the day off 11% and although I have faith in it in the longer term, it may be a case of taking a small hit on it soon and employing the capital to better effect elsewhere. Unfortunately, on low volumes, no news and little hype, smaller AIM shares often fall off the radar...

Day 35 – Portfolio Value £6,289 Up £165 On Th...After a mixed day for our little, green share portfolio, ReneSola shoved us into positive territory with a 7% gain, busting a little resistance on the way. As the heftiest share in our portfolio – on current weighting it makes up 56% of our holdings – any movements in ReneSola’s share price has a substantial effect on where we end the day. After exploring 140 pence yesterday, tod...

Day 34 – Portfolio Value £6,185 Up £276 On Th...Now that’s the sort of day we’d like to see more often. In fact, to show you what we’re up against here with our far-fetched Investor Trader challenge, if, for the remaining 1,791 days of our project, our portfolio were to appreciate by £276 (as it has today), we’d amass a further £494,316. Add that to our current portfolio value of £6,185 brings us in at £500,501. Roug...

Month 1 Summary – Portfolio Value £5,924I must apologise, I really am a fair-weather blogger. Looking over my daily updates during the first month of our little quest to net a million, it must appear that Investor Trader has been a resounding success. Of the seven updates I’ve written, six have claimed capital gains on the day – unrealised, though they are. But if you take a careful look at the reality of things, it’s ...

Day 24 – Portfolio Value £5,244 Up £118 On Th...As I kind of expected, ReneSola returned some of it’s value on Friday, regaining 6.75 pence of the 14.75 pence it bled on Thursday. Having both a London Stock Exchange and a New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) listing takes a little of the crystal ball gazing out of a share like ReneSola, where you can continue to follow the action across the Pond when London has shut up shop for the day. Howev...

Day 23 – Portfolio Value £5,040 Down £420 On ...Red, red, red, our little green portfolio is redder than a sunburnt communist – finishing the day down £420. And speaking of sun, it’s ReneSola, our Chinese solar panel manufacturer that is the main protagonist, finishing down a hefty 14.75 pence (11.5%) on the day after releasing it’s first quarter results. Nothing too startling amongst them and I notice Renesola’s New Yo...
