AIM Soiree and LSE Soiree Merge to Become Investor Soiree

We'd been mulling it over for a while and then back in April we pulled the trigger. I'm talking about the amalgamation of AIM Soiree and LSE Soiree under the Investor Soiree banner. Now, instead of ranking the bulletin board (bb) posting levels for 900 AIM shares on AIM Soiree and a further 600 main board LSE shares on LSE Soiree, we rank those levels for all 1,500 shares together on Investor Soiree. All in the one big pot. Using a little inhouse technology we monitor the posting levels of activity on the boards of Interactive Investor and London South East (lse.co.uk)...

AIM Soiree Facelift and New Functionality

A super quick post today to update you on the latest happenings over at AIM Soiree. For those of you who are non au fait with AIM Soiree, here's the one-paragraph take on what we do: Everyday, at just past noon, the AIM Soirée Equidisculator™ heads off on to the Interweb and ranks all 850+ shares on London Stock Exchange's AIM Market based on the amount of Interactive Investor and LSE combined discussion they attract. As well as the daily rankings for each of those shares we provide a stack of information on the one page - aggregated bulletin board discussion and...

Redesign at AIM Soiree

Things are about to get a little messy over at our sister site, AIM Soiree as we bring the design kicking and screaming into 2014. Gone are the kitschy graphics - with the exception of a small homage or two - to be replaced with some funky new colours and lines. And with them, a little new functionality. But more on that later. Just be assured that if things all go a little awry, I'm onto it (maybe) and service should return to normal just as soon as my sub-par programming skills allow. But why change? A couple of reasons. Unfortunately it's a bit of a last role of...

AIM Chat Trick – Triple the Discussion

Hi there, you look nice, do something with your hair? Just a quick update today on new happenings over at AIM Soiree. We've given the Soiree a bit of a tune-up in terms of the companies it follows. We've trimmed a lot of dead wood, getting rid of those companies that, for whatever reason, have moved on (up, down, disappeared) from AIM in the past 12 months. But more importantly, we've added in those companies that over the past 12 months have moved on in. And there's one or two companies that we have missed in previous updates that have now...

AIM Soiree

We've been having a bit of a poke around with the code that does what it does on AIM Soireé and I thought a little update may be in order. For those of you yet to sample the Burt Bacharach-backed, velvet-lined plushness that is AIM Soireé, I implore you to drop everything, apply a dob of brylcreem and mosey there immediately. In a nutshell, AIM Soireé ranks the frequency of bulletin board discussion from some of the UK's largest financial portals - think III.co.uk and LSE.co.uk - for 800 AIM listed shares, once a day at 12.45pm, then posts its findings on...

Introducing LSE Soirée

Following on from the unmitigated success of AIM Soirée - where we rank the chat, so you know where AIMs at - the next logical step was to apply the same shoddy coding (and funky design) to AIM's big sister; the London Stock Exchange's, Main Market. Well, a fair chunk of it anyway. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, allow me introduce, LSE Soirée. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll be brief...

AIM Soiree Enhancements

Record short post coming up. I've got 15 minutes to be out of the door but not before I let you all know about some super enhancements over at AIM Soiree. Each of the 804 AIM shares we rank now has its very own page. Hurrah! Here's one for Range Resources we made earlier. Now, although the chart, price and volume data displayed is delayed (we suggest you head on over to Share Price for live pricing anywho), each page has plenty of up-to-the-minute data to keep you coming back for more. As well as today's AIM Soiree overall and sector ratings and links...

AIM Soiree – Sleeker, Faster, Sexier

So I just wanted to pen a brisk post to let all you good folks know about a few tweaks, updates and additions we've made over at AIM Soiree. For those of you new to the world of keeping atop of what's all abuzz on AIM, let me give you the AIM Soiree lowdown (for those of you already in the know, apologies, grab yourself a complimentary beer from the fridge and pick up after the following paragraph). At AIM Soiree: we've taken UK speculative investment research back to the basics. We aim to answer one question and one question alone: what shares...

AIM Soiree Starts Tweeting

Blatant cross-promotion warning! Our sister site, AIM Soirée - whose sole purpose in life is to rank the most discussed shares on AIM, daily - has begun tweeting. Who hasn't I hear you cry. Well, this is different. There'll be no witty banter crammed into 140 characters, no market comment, no re-tweeting, no following back. No! AIM Soirée once a day (around 1.00pm GMT) will be tweeting the name of the single most talked about AIM share on Interactive Investor and LSE's bulletin boards as determined by the AIM Soirée Equidisculator™. It's a set and forget follow that will provide you with a single...

Bargains on AIM

With AIM shares pretty much taking a beating across the board, it's a good time to keep an eye out for an AIM bargain or two. I'm not saying dive in head-first for all you're worth, but there's a lot of very good companies that have probably drifted into the over-sold category that are worth keeping an eye on. And if they haven't already then they're certainty heading in that direction as investors look to turn holdings to cash and replenish their savings or chase a commodity dollar or two in the short term. So how do you find them, these...
